First Nature is proud to announce our latest ambassador, not to be confused with the electro DJ/producer from the same town, Andries Haasbroek is faster lying down than anyone in Gauteng! Andries has been at the forefront of the luge scene for many years and has been instrumental at putting Gauteng luge & buttboard on the map.

Andries is a true junkie of all things that raise your heart beat or cause your adrenaline levels to spike. He is involved in many action and extreme sports such as underwater hockey, rock climbing and kitesurfing apart from his passion for luge.

“Andy Pants” got into the scene in the early 2000′s and attended his first official race in 2004 right in his home town of Pretoria. Since then he has progressed into one of SA’s top Street and Classic Luge athletes and the go-to guy in Gauteng for luge training and advice. You can catch him on just about any weekend tearing down a hill at speeds unknown to the general public, pushing the boundaries and turning heads. Andries has been instrumental in getting new guys involved, training them up and throwing them down a hill. If you are a newbie with your shiny new luge rocking up to a session, Andries is the first guy to get you setup and ready to ride, full of knowledge to share and stoke to spread.

Andries not only takes part in both luge sports but he also builds his own luges right in the garage of his house. Antik buttboards was born out of a need for these unique boards in Gauteng and now they are shipping all over SA. High quality buttboards with a beautiful finish custom made and ready to ride, Andries’ talents don’t stop on the hill.

In December, Andries will be heading up the Gauteng luge team in the last 2 races on the SA calendar and aiming to give the Western Cape riders something to worry about. We are very excited to have him on board.
